Changes To Calaveras Recycling Program Prove Successful

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, Ca — Approximately one month ago Calaveras County made changes to its recycling program and the results have been positive.

Calaveras Disposal Residential Customers have received 32 gallon blue cans, and are able to place all recyclables together. Previously, all recyclables had to be placed in a designated bag and separated.

Recycling Manager Lesli Daniel with the Calaveras County Public Works Department says that in the Copperopolis, West Point and Valley Springs areas, there has been a 100% increase in the amount of items that have been delivered to the disposal site in the past month.

Items that can be placed into the cans include paper, glass jars, bottles, cardboard and aluminum.

For more information on the program, you can contact Calaveras Disposal at 209-274-2454.
