Maximizing Shrinking Services
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County service agencies come together to brainstorm about services for families and crime victims. Child Welfare Services, Law Enforcement, Victim’s Rights and the District Attorney’s Office came together at a luncheon Wednesday to share ideas and information to help families and victims of crime.
D.A. Michael Knowles says, “The problems that we realize lead to problems later, for example truancy, it’s a beginning point. The agencies that are represented here are all recognizing that we can’t duplicate, we can’t stand alone. We have got to integrate these services so that we maximize what we do have.”
Knowles says they are trying to strengthen and focus on programs that work. He also says with shrinking funds they are looking at ways to help families get the tools to help themselves.
