Sonora, CA — The number of single-family-home building permits issued last year was slightly up in Tuolumne County.
Community Resources Agency Director Bev Shane says 52 permits were issued, compared to 49 in 2009. That’s still down considerably from the peak of 2005, when around 450 single family housing permits were issued. Numbers indicate that more people are choosing to make renovations, rather than build a new home. The number of general building permits issued last year was up around 200, to 1,237.
