Ranchers Have “Beef” About Lamb Promotion

Federal officials have started collecting fees from sheep ranchers to help promote lamb sales. But Central Valley ranchers are waiting for a U.S. Supreme Court decision in a court case filed by beef ranchers. The cattlemen are opposed to paying fees for commercials that don´t promote American beef. A federal district judge agreed last month with the ranchers – saying the paying fees for commercials they oppose violates their constitutional rights.
