Republicans Gather In Sonora

Sponsored by:

State Assemblyman Dave Cogdill and U.S Congressman George Radonovich were in Sonora Friday evening as guests at the Tuolumne County Republican Central Committee´s annual dinner, held at the Sonora Elks Lodge. More than 160 persons attended the dinner gathering.

Trice Harvey, vice chairman central with the California Republican Party, said the meeting Friday night was to gather support and enthusiasm for the Republican party, especially in a gubernatorial election year.

“Our job is to support the person the people put into office and to make sure we´re behind them all the way,” Harvey said. “Our job is to elect Republicans.”

Harvey praised the Mother Lode area. “These people in the mountains are very conservative, very family-oriented and they get out and vote. So they are critical to our party.”
