Crosswalk Signals Get Rave Reviews

Those countdown crosswalk signals in San Francisco are getting raves from the walking public – and are also apparently preventing accidents involving pedestrians.
The city has 14 intersections using the new signals.
A survey says an overwhelming 92 percent of pedestrians questioned said they like the signals.
Police Chief Fred Lau says accidents are down 63 percent at the intersections with the new lights.
Officials say the countdown crosswalk signals will eventually be found at every controlled intersection in the city.
