Governor Davis´ appointment of actor Clint Eastwood to the state Park and Recreation Commission has been approved by the Senate Rules Committee.
Today´s action by the committee sends the nomination to the full Senate. Davis named Eastwood to the panel last November.
The nine-member commission shapes policies for more than 260 state parks, from Hearst Castle to Humboldt Redwoods State Park. The panel meets about six times a year in different areas of the state.
Commission members are unpaid and serve four-year terms.
