Travelers Flying From SFO Should Expect Delays
San Francisco, CA — Residents of the Mother Lode who plan air travel over the next couple of weeks should probably consider flying out of airports other than San Francisco.
Authorities say travelers should expect to experience delays and see plenty of crowds there.
Even before the real travel crunch begins, things are running behind schedule now because of a storm moving through the area.
Airport officials say flights arriving at SFO will be running up to 49 minutes late throughout the morning because of low cloud cover. An increase in flight traffic and bad weather throughout the country are also expected to impact flight schedules throughout the holiday season.
Airport officials are predicting more than 1.6 million passengers will pass through the airport during the roughly two-week holiday season.
The busiest travel days are expected to be tomorrow and Friday, and then on December 27th.
It´s estimated that about 115,000 passengers will use SFO on each of those days.
