Dodge Ridge Replaces Building Destroyed By Fire

Dodge Ridge Ski Area operators Frank and Sally Helm have unveiled a 3600-square-foot temporary structure that will replace the old, original lodge that was destroyed by a massive fire on January 6th.

Sally Helm says the new structure will likely be used for 3-seasons until a new permanent structure can be built.

“It has a beautiful covered entry, temporary floor, a great heating system and plenty of locker and storage space.”

The new building will house up to 200 lockers and various offices for ski area employees. Helm says the Dodge Ridge team will soon embark on the development of a new master plan for the ski area. After gaining approval from local agencies and the Forest Service for the new plan, the Helms may tweak the makeup of the area and the layout of buildings.

Dodge Ridge is located approximately 30 miles above Sonora off of Highway 108 near Pinecrest. Its base is at 6,600-feet and has summits above 8000-feet.
