Jamestown, CA — The Highway Patrol will be establishing a D.U.I. checkpoint in the greater Sonora area this weekend.
Officer Brad Schultz says officers throughout the state are cracking down on those who drive while under the influence. Schultz adds that D.U.I. arrests can cost an individual $10,000 for the violation, court costs and increased insurance premiums.
He adds that many D.U.I. arrests can result in the loss of job because of a suspended driver´s license. In addition, many employers will not consider hiring an individual with a D.U.I. offense on their record.
Schultz says officers will also be citing motorists driving with suspended licenses.
