Pinecrest, CA — The Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is back in operation after being closed Saturday because of heavy rains and high winds.
Spokesman Paul Jones says the weather has taken a favorable turn and the resort has seen several inches of fresh new snow.
He says the snow has been falling since about midnight Sunday, dropping as much as 16 inches on the top of the mountain.
Jones says the goal of the area operators is to have the resort open to 100% for the first time this season by Tuesday.
He says the crowds have been somewhat marginal, but the skiing conditions for this weekend should be ideal.
