South County Planning Issue To Highlight Supervisors’ Agenda

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — South county residents were hoping for a general plan document from the county that would outline plans to stimulate the economy in Big Oak Flat and Groveland.

Instead they received a number of property regulations. And so by a unanimous vote the Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commission returned the document to staff seeking a redo.

This issue, including a public hearing, will be discussed at today´s Board of Supervisors meeting at 1:30.

In addition Community Development Department Director Bev Shane will conduct a first reading of anordinance amending the county´s ordinance code by adding a new chapter (9.24) to discourage the premature removal of native oak trees and to establish penalties, mitigation requirements and an enforcement procedure for the premature removal oak trees.

Today´s agenda will also include a hearing to consider termination of the franchise agreement for collection of solid waste in Collection Area Three with Burns Refuse Service, Inc.
