Angels Camp Police Looking For New Year’s Revelry
The Angels Camp Police Department will be working this New Years Eve and looking for those who welcome 2010 inappropriately.
Angels Camp Police Chief Dale Mendenhall was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Mendenhall said that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, lighting illegal fireworks and shooting off firearms, are always potential problems with each New Year’s Eve.
Seven burglaries have been reported in Angels Camp over the past month, prompting the Police Department to urge residents to be on alert.
Mendenhall says property has been stolen from vehicles and an open garage. Mendenhall believes the cases are related, and have been “crimes of opportunity” were the vehicles and buildings are unlocked. He says residents should secure vehicles and buildings, and make sure that all valuables are out of sight.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
