Supervisors Appoint Negotiations Team For Kennedy Meadows

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors have voted to create a team to negotiate the acquisition of the Kennedy Meadows property.

Part of the 2001 bankruptcy settlement between PG&E and the California Public Utilities Commission is that 46 properties be dispersed to agencies and organizations that benefit the public. One of those properties currently houses Kennedy Meadows Resort. On June 10th, the Stewardship Council voted to commence property negotiations with Tuolumne County to become the donee of the Kennedy Meadows property and hold the fee title.

The Supervisors voted 4-1 to appoint a negotiations team of Supervisor Teri Murrison, CAO Craig Pedro and Deputy CAO Daniel Richardson.

Supervisor Liz Bass cast the lone "no" vote because she didn’t feel it was appropriate to have a member of the Board of Supervisors on the team.
