Weekend Events Before Memorial Day

A winter weather advisory was issued for Saturday above 8,000 feet but outdoor activities will proceed as planned at lower elevations.

It is the 40th Annual Arnold Spring Peddler’s Faire, at 4,000 foot elevation below the weather advisory area. The faire will feature about 70 booths with antiques, collectibles, original art and crafts, gourmet foods, and vintage jewelry. The Arnold Lion’s Club holds an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast of ham, eggs, & pancakes both days from 8am – 11am for just $8. The Ebbetts Pass Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring and will man their beer booth featuring local Calaveras County brews. In Murphys there is also a 2nd Annual Peddlers’ Faire on Friday and Sunday, May 25-26 at the 1st Congregational Church. A map and details are in our event calendar here. 

In Angels Camp the Greenhorn Community has over 20 homes participating in a community wide yard sale. Their event listing is here. 

The Sonora Farmers Market is open this Saturday morning. In Jamestown, Railtown 1897 will have special activities over Memorial Day Weekend. Due to unforeseen mechanical issues, only the diesel will run May 26-28. Interactive activities and crafts are available with shelter over the deck waiting area and the Kiwanis Club will be barbecuing onsite. Regular excursion train rides depart at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Train ride tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youths ages 6-17 and kids five and under are free. Park admission costs are $5 for adults, $3 for youths ages 6-17 and free for children five and under. Limited behind-the-scenes cab rides are available for noon and 1:30 p.m. departures, advance reservations are recommended.

The Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary is hosting a Rummage Sale today and Saturday. Mi Wuk and Sugar Pine are also at about 4,000 feet elevation.

At Eproson Park in Twain Harte on Memorial day there will be a Memorial Day Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony Hot Dog Picnic, the event is named Call for Old Glory.
