Pesticide Use Down In California
Pesticide use for agriculture, pest control and landscape maintenance declined in California in 2000 for the second straight year.
A state report says it dipped to the lowest level since 1992.
That decrease is largely due to increased use of reduced risk chemicals and practices. Glenn Brank, spokesman for the state Department of Pesticide Regulation says the numbers are an indication that the state is moving in the right direction.
