School Districts Receive Money From SAB

San Andreas, Ca — Three Mother Lode school districts have received a share of the over $234 million that was recently allocated by California´s State Allocation Board to modernize facilities across the state.

The Calaveras Unified School District will receive $4.3 million for construction of new classrooms and a library at Valley Springs Elementary.

According to Calaveras Unified Supt. Of Schools John Brophy, the individual districts are required to provide matching funds for the grant money.

Sonora Union High School has been allocated $1.23 million to help cover the costs of recent renovations made to areas such as the gymnasium. Meanwhile, the Bret Harte Union High School District will receive $982,000 for construction of a multi-purpose building.
