Battle Over Vote Heads To Courtroom

A bitter ballot fight over how Californians will vote in coming years has spilled into a state courtroom.
Business groups pushing statewide voting reforms asked appeals court justices in Sacramento today to kill a rival measure from the Legislature aiming to keep the status quo.
Both measures are on the November ballot. Business interests behind Proposition 62 say lawmakers´ competing ballot initiative, Proposition 60, illegally combines two separate topics to woo more voters. Business groups say it´s illegal to mix two questions, but legislative attorneys say they´ve acted properly.
