June Weekend Events

Sponsored by:

Here are a few of several events scheduled for this weekend in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.

Saturday morning there will be a Summer Health and Safety Fair in Valley Springs. Over twenty community health related service groups will participate in the community-wide event. Information will be available on topics such as senior health services, nutrition, fitness and diabetes. There will also be a variety of free health screenings – body fat, physical fitness levels, stress levels, and metabolic screenings. This year they have partnered with the state and local EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement to provide safety information and demonstrations, including car seat safety checks and bike safety.

CHP Officer Rebecca Myers says, “Your child’s life depends on that car seat, that’s why it is important to make sure it is properly installed.”  Details about the event are here.

At the Calaveras Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday there will be an antique Firefighter competition, with antique equipment. The event is open to the public and has events for children to participate in. Firefighters from all over the west participate. The event listing with a map is here.

The 6th Annual Habitat House Party has a western theme this year.  The party will be held at Immanuel Lodge, featuring Barbeque and more. For a map and details view the Habitat House Party event listing.

Another Western theme event is the Secret Garden Library Fundraiser for Calaveras City Main Library. The theme is “Hay Bales and Teacups” and it includes dinner and music in San Andreas.

Two weekly events are scheduled in Twain Harte including Movies in the Pines on Friday nights, 8:30 to 10:30 at the Eproson Stage area and Twain Harte Concert in the Pines on Saturday.
