Sonora, CA — Highway 49 was closed this evening after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

Limited details are available, but it happened at around 5:30pm near the Archie Stevenot Bridge, on the Tuolumne County side. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports the emergency landing was due to the aircraft being low on fuel. The plane landed safely and there were no injuries.
