The Memorial Day Weekend has arrived in the Motherlode and Stanislaus Forest officials are preparing for
it. Supervisor Ben Del Villar saya a majority of the forest´s campgrounds at the low to middle elevation level have opened. Some of the campgrounds have
facilities available but some of the undeveloped ones do not. Campgrounds at elevations of 7000 feet or higher are closed until the snow has melted some
more.
People must have campfire permits because of fire danger and you must call for a reservation. Campsites are 5 to 15 dollars per day. Any
information can be obtained in any forest office.
