Sonora Regional Medical Center Ready To Help

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Should the County Board of Supervisors eliminate acute care services at Tuolumne General Hospital, Sonora Regional Medical Center is prepared to step up to the plate and help fill the gap.

S.R.M.C. President and CEO Larry Davis made that comment during the Tuesday Beilenson Hearing. Said Davis, “We are committed to working together with you to make sure there is a thoughtful and seemless transition of patient care. We are committed to providing care to everyone in the county regardless of their ability to pay.”

A county report estimates Tuolumne General Hospital will continue to drain, on an annual basis, $7 million from the county´s general fund.

The county supervisors put forth no decision Tuesday evening. They have scheduled an extension of the Beilenson Hearing for Tuesday, May 2 at 2PM. No additional public comment will be permitted at that hearing.
