Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County may be following Calaveras County´s lead by asking for state and federal disaster relief.
At the Board of Supervisors meeting this morning, Maureen Frank with the Office of Emergency Services advised the board to declare a Local State of Emergency.
The urgent agenda item was approved and is now awaiting consideration by Governor Schwarzenegger.
Frank says that the estimated damage in the county is more than a million dollars and could increase due to approaching storms.
Several meetings are scheduled today to address the unpredictable and damaging weather.
Frank expects to have more information regarding repairs and sand bag availability by the end of the day.
