Sonora High Golden Regiment Band Arrives Home
Sonora, CA– Many Mother Lode parents are resting easy after over 200 Sonora Golden Regiment band members returned home safely today.
On Thursday, March 17th, Sonora High´s Golden Regiment Marching Band, along with a dozen chaperones, left Sonora for Denver, Colorado to perform in the St. Patrick´s Day Parade on Saturday.
During their five-day trip, high school students had the opportunity to tour the state capital, visit with Colorado´s new governor Bill Ritter, Jr., as well as perform a concert at Erie High School north of Denver.
Trumpet player April Peterson says the band´s performance wasawesome” and that people in Denver were screamingSonora Golden Regiment rocks.” After a long trip home on several tour buses, tired students arrived back at Sonora High School at about 3:20pm ready for a good night´s sleep in their own beds.
