Angels Camp Man Arrested For Brandishing A Weapon At Local Bar
Angels Camp, CA — 36-year old Matthew Onstad of Angels Camp was arrested early Wednesday morning for brandishing a weapon and making criminal threats at Claussen´s Corner Bar.
Angels Camp Police Chief Tony Tacheira says officers responded to a call of a disturbance at 1 a.m., Wednesday.
A female victim and apparent friend of the suspect says she didn´t want Onstad to drive himself home. He became agitated and argued with her.
The two began walking down Main Street when Onstad opened a folding knife and threatened to kill her. He said,I´m going to kill you. It´s God´s will.”
The victim fled the area and police caught up with Onstad near the Vallero Gas Station. He was arrested and booked into Calaveras County Jail on charges of public intoxication, vandalism, resisting arrest, making criminal threats and brandishing a weapon.
