Bush Bailout Plan Fails In The House Of Representatives

Washington, D.C. — By a margin of 13 votes the Bush Administration´s $700 billion bailout plan failed in the House of Representatives this afternoon.
The measure required 218 votes to pass. The final tally showed 205 votes for the plan with 228 against.
Approximately 60 percent of Democrats voted for the plan but less than a third of the Republicans supported the bailout as it is currently crafted.
