Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA– A traffic stop by TNT agents on Highway 108 near Green Springs Road. led to the discovery of over 28 grams of Fentanyl-Isotonitazene, a synthetic opioid 20 times stronger than Fentanyl, and other illegal substances.

The stop, which occurred on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 7, followed the execution of a search warrant obtained after a lengthy investigation into Derek Richard Estes’ alleged involvement in the transportation and distribution of Fentanyl. TNT agents detained Estes, 27-year-old Stacey Christ, and 42-year-old Janae Lynn Tonegato, and conducted a search of their vehicle. During the search, agents discovered over 28 grams of Fentanyl-Isotonitazene, approximately two grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia.

According to TNT agents, the Fentanyl-Isotonitazene was purchased in the San Francisco area and transported to Tuolumne County for distribution. This drug is considered highly dangerous, as it is often mixed with other substances to increase dealers’ profits. Estes, Christ, and Tonegato were arrested and booked at the Dambacher Detention Center on multiple charges, including possession and transportation of Fentanyl and methamphetamine for sale, as well as conspiracy to commit a crime. Estes faces an additional charge for committing a felony while out on bail. While at the Detention Center, Tonegato was found to have concealed Fentanyl on her person, leading to an additional charge of bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information is urged to contact TNT at (209) 533-5884.
