The last weekend in July will be hot with near record breaking temperatures and plenty of events to enjoy.
The Bear Valley Music Festival continues tonight and through the weekend. Tonight at 7pm is Symphony Opening Night with Del Sol, Friday will feature Beethoven’s 5th, Chopin’s 2nd and more, Saturday at 11am is the Free Family Concert with Dawn Harms and later is the Jazz Violinist Mads Tolling performance. The Angels Camp Certified Famers Market held each Friday will also feature the launch of Mark Twain Wild West Fest raffle ticket sales. The grand prize winner will receive an authentic 4.68-ounce Gold Nugget valued at approximately $6,000.00. In their second season, resident theatre company Shakespeare on the Vine will present William Shakespeare’s comedic romance As You Like It at Brice Station Vineyards. Details are here. Sierra Rep. Theater continues to present Beehive: The 60s Musical Sensation at the East Sonora Theatre, details are here. At the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia catch SRT’s Rodgers & Hammerstein’s State Fair. On Sunday, July 31, Yesenia McNett, from the 2015 SRT show: Always, Patsy Cline, will return for one-night only, details are here.
The Sonora United Methodist Church is hosting a Tongan Luau on Saturday, July 30th. It is a family event with entertainment, dancing and a tropical feast. More details and ticket prices are in the event listing here.
As reported here Rods to Rails will take over downtown Jamestown for the 5th annual Railtown 1897 State Park on Saturday from early in the morning through 3 pm.
Also, as reported, on Saturday the Come-In-Unity Dinner honoring first-responders will be held at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. Details are here.
