Tourists visiting the Mother Lode may indeed be paying more for a hotel room.
At least, the issue will be going before the voters this November.
At Tuesday´s meeting of the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors, the vote was unanimous, so the proposal by the Visitor´s Bureau and the County Lodging Association will be on the November ballot.
The Transient Occupancy Tax increase, from 8 percent to 9 percent, would apply to houseboats, campsites, RV parks, and ordinary rooms in hotels and inns.
The election date this year is Tuesday, November 4th.
