Medical Center’s Golf Tournament Raises $50,400 For Free Mobile Health Clinic

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Thanks to the generous support of 56 event sponsors, 129 golfers, plus donors and volunteers, Sonora Regional Medical Center’s 17th Annual Golf Classic on June 14 at Saddle Creek Golf Resort raised $50,400 for Project HOPE, its free mobile health van.  Staffed by a nurse practitioner, the heath van is stationed at the Crossroads shopping center twice a week and Interfaith once a month, to provide free basic healthcare services to people who have no health insurance or who are underinsured.

“Project HOPE has been offering access to free, basic health-care services to our community for more than twenty years,” says Kara Turpen, Manager of Philanthropy and Golf Classic organizer.  “The Golf Classic is always a fun way for the Medical Center and supporters to make sure this important health-care service continues.”

Special thanks to Title Sponsor Black Oak Casino Resort and Hole-in-One Sponsors Sonora Ford and Subaru of Sonora, who offered a 2017 Ford Mustang or a 2017 Subaru Outback as the hole-in-one prize (unfortunately, no winner this year!).  Other key sponsors of the event were Adventist Health, Comcast Business Services, California Gold Development/Sonora Hills Community, Affiliates in Imaging, Clarke Broadcasting, CEP America, Oak Valley Community Bank, Blue Mountain Minerals, CGL Companies, MACT Health Board, Quiring General LLC, Sierra Emergency Medical Group, Aspen Street Architects, Auto Tech & Tires, Chicken Ranch Rancheria, Andrew and Marlena Jahn, Sonora Anesthesia Services, Sonora Grocery Outlet and Warden’s Office Furniture.
