I have been told that I have a “heart murmur.” Is that the same as an arrhythmia?

A murmur is a sound from the heart or other cardiovascular structure heard on examination. It can be normal to have a murmur in youth, but in older adults, a murmur is more likely to be associated with heart disease such as a heart valve problem. Arrhythmia, on the other hand, refers to a heart rhythm problem only, and is a separate issue.
