Search For Missing Motorcyclist Focuses On Mokelumne River
San Andreas, CA — Authorities using boats and drones are searching for a motorcyclist-writer who went missing near Mokelumne Hill.
On Monday, Calaveras County sheriff’s officials reported that crews are searching the Mokelumne River and a reservoir for David Gordon Johnson, who was reported missing last Wednesday. As reported over the weekend here, the search was expanded to include multiple agencies.
Johnson, who went by the byline Davey G. Johnson, was test-driving a motorcycle for a Motorcyclist magazine story and heading back to his home in Sacramento when his girlfriend and a friend last heard. While the motorcycle was found at a rest stop Friday, searchers on Saturday found his clothes, cellphone and a laptop a few feet away from the river.
