Update at 12:17pm: Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Deputy Nicco Sandelin, is providing further information about early Saturday morning’s deadly house fire on Rawhide Road in the Jamestown area.

He relays, “When Deputies arrived on scene, the residence was fully engulfed. Deputies learned one person was able to escape the fire while another person may have still been inside. The deputies attempted to make entry into the residence, but were unable, due to the fire, smoke and integrity of the building. Once the fire was extinguished, a deceased female was located inside the house. The Sheriff’s Coroner was unable to make an identification and are awaiting test results for identification.”
