Promoting Jamestown Is A Year Round Event

Sponsored by:

Jamestown is one of the few mid-sized communities in Tuolumne County without its own Chamber of Commerce.

Trisha Gardella, Board Member and Events Coordinator with the Promotions Club of Jamestown, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

In addition to the Promotions Club of Jamestown, the community also has the Jamestown Planning Commission and Railtown 1897 Historical State Park.

The three entities work close together to keep Jamestown a thriving environment for the local residents and an active tourist destinatation for out-of-towners.

The Promotions Club is a non-profit organization that exists purely to promote Jamestown.

The informal club brings activities to town throughout the year. Money is raised for the club during specific events through a combination of t-shirt sales, food purchases and raffle drawings.

One immediate event is the fifth annual Jamestown Heritage Days that will take place this Sunday in downtown Jamestown from noon through 4pm.

Live music, prize drawings, western shoot-outs and pie-by-the-slice will be served, all centered around a large wagon train arrival on Sunday. Heritage Days is free to the public.

Gardella also encourages residents to remember to “shop local” for the upcoming holiday season.

For more information regarding the Promotions Club of Jamestown, call Gardella at 984-4583.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am.
