Sponsored by:

Valley Springs, CA — The couple involved in one of the worst cases of elder abuse in the Mother Lode waived their right to a preliminary hearing Friday in Calaveras County Superior Court.

The Valley Springs husband and wife are accused of neglecting a 91-year-old woman almost to the point of death.

54 year old Alan Deyarmon, and 51 year old Rosie Deyarmon will be arraigned July 11th on charges of elder abuse, financial abuse and child endangerment.

Investigators said the elderly woman had severe bedsores and there were bugs and larva on her body.

The elderly woman is now believed to be Alan Deyarmon´s mother. Two children were taken from the home and put in protective custody. The victim is now in a care facility, reportedly doing much better.

If convicted, the Deyarmons each face up to 10 years in prison, and a $6,000 fine.
