New Principal Selected For Sonora Union High School

Sonora, CA — Effective July 1st, Todd Deardon will be the principal at Sonora Union High School.

He will succeed the retiring Terry Clark. According to Superintendent Rob Gaskill, Deardon was the unanimous selection of a 12 member selection committee that reviewed application packets from a field of 15 candidates. Deardon has served as an administrator in the King City Joint Union High School District the past four years. It is located on the southern tip of Monterrey County.

Prior to working in King City, Deardon served four years in the San Miguel Joint Unified School District as a teacher, counselor, and vice principal. He was awarded his Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from Cal Poly State University and his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major of French Literature from Southern Utah University.

Deardon says he became interested in Sonora a few months back while passing through on an FFA Ski Trip he was involved in organizing. He feels it is a beautiful town and community. Coming to Sonora with him, will be his wife Jennifer and four children. He says they are all excited about the move.
