Murphys, CA — This year Murphys Irish Day is extra special with the festivities being celebrated on Saint Patrick´s Day.
To celebrate the town´s Irish heritage, the community is invited to downtown Murphys Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an 11 a.m. parade, entertainment and street vendors.
Parade organizer Bob Reagan says thanks to the forecasted weather the parade will be sure to please. There are more than 40 entries including Grand Marshal Saint Patrick, a 10 foot tall Scotsman and the Bret Harte Marching Band, to name a few.
A silent auction begins at 10 a.m. in the Native Sons Hall with more than 90 items up for sale. A 4 p.m. raffle will give away prizes such as a trip for two to Ireland.
