What is internal medicine?

Internal medicine specialists are doctors for adults. We treat non-surgical medical problems in people 18 and older, excluding obstetrics. We view the broad picture of overall health in our patients with an emphasis on treating advanced and acute disease states. Our goal is to help people live longer healthier lives by preventing and controlling medical problems.
