What can I do to help relieve my child’s seasonal allergies?

Seasonal allergies can cause a lot of problems for people – nasal stuffiness, coughing, sneezing. I often share with parents that I’ve never bought over-the-counter cold or allergy medicines for my own kids. I have not found them to be that effective. However, for seasonal allergies, the appropriate prescription medication can be very effective. Recent studies have suggested that allergies tend to develop in kids whose immune systems have not been challenged enough. Kids exposed to more dust and dirt, it seems, can fair better when it comes to allergies.
