Hamas is more than a militant Islamist terror organization. It has a well-organized military including units of battalion strength. Israel cannot let up until it is destroyed. Hamas, the Palestinian Authority and Fatah, a supposed secular political party, all have the stated goal of the destruction of Israel. The U.S. needs to resist calls for an immediate cease-fire until Hamas is destroyed. They started it; Israel needs to finish it.
