Bonsai club turns
Workshop into Funshop

Mother Lode Bonsai Club is changing the concept of a “workshop” into a “funshop” at their next meeting on Saturday, February 1. Immediately after their 9:30 a.m. meeting, club president Richard McKinstry with assistance from members Nikie Hobba and Frank Garcia will host a hands-on session on bonsai repotting and root pruning. The location is the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mt. Ranch Road) in San Andreas.
“With the winter dormancy season upon us, this is the time of year to complete these basic bonsai chores that need to be done from time to time for good plant health and it’s much more enjoyable doing them together with others.”
There is no charge for admission or parking but participants must provide their own plants, soil, pots, tools and a table covering. Everyone is invited to attend and learn more about bonsai regardless of their experience or levels of skill. For more information, contact Richard McKinstry at (209) 288-2330 or go online to www.motherlodebonsai.org.
