Could Tuolumne County Have A Recount?

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County, CA — The vote by mail ballots leave Karl Rodefer with an even 50percent in the District Five race.

There are still about 400 provisional ballots to count between the five districts which could give him the win. Otherwise, he will face Domenic Torchia in a run-off.

County Election’s official, Debi Russell, says Rodefer could call for a recount which would cost around $700 dollars and could take a month or more to declare a winner.

Another race to watch is the Tuolumne County Supervisors District One. Mail in ballots give Liz Bass a slight 18 vote edge over Jim Hildreth. Also, in the Sonora City Council race Bill Canning has a 44 vote lead over Dave Sheppard for third place. All those results could change once the provisional votes are counted. Russell says we won’t know those numbers until next week.
