Railtown Superintendent Leaving For New Position

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA — The head of Railtown 1897 will be exiting later this month.

Kim Baker has been the park superintendent for past seven years, and she has accepted a new position with the California State Parks Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division. Some of her highlights have been the transition process that has occurred at Railtown since moving off the potential closure list, and also helping to bring in new offerings like the Polar Express.

“I think that Railtown is really coming into its own, and I look forward to seeing that continue over the next couple of years,” says Baker.

Baker’s new job will be based in Sacramento, but she plans to continue to reside in Columbia.

Baker’s last day at Railtown 1897 will be January 23rd and the Capital District Management Team will be working on a transition plan. An interim park superintendent has not yet been announced.
