Lopez Search Cancelled

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA — The local search for escaped Sierra Conservation Center inmate George Landcheco Lopez has been cancelled.

The 35 year old Lopez was last seen by his supervisor at around 2:45pm Wednesday, July 16 when he was working outside of the prison gates in the facility´s carpentry shop. He was wearing a green jumpsuit with state prison lettering. Lopez has scars on his right arm, right forearm and right eye.

Lt. Jimmy Hurtado says Sacramento will now take over responsibility for the search. Historically Hurtado adds that escaped inmates are usually captured.

The last inmate to escape S.C.C. was captured four months after leaving the Jamestown facility six years ago.

Lopez was serving a five year sentence for possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, disregard for safety and failure to appear in court. Lopez was incarcerated on November 28th of last year. He originally resided in Tehama County.

Should you spot Lopez, contact any law enforcement agency immediately.
