Patel Remembers’ Meals On Wheels’ Hunsaker
Sonora, CA — Black Oak Casino General Manager Ron Patel, not unlike many in the community, remains shocked and saddened over the sudden death of Sierra Senior Providers CEO Randy Hunsaker.
According to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department, Hunsaker apparently drowned while fishing in the Calaveras River Canyon below Hogan Dam sometime Saturday. His body was recovered Sunday evening by the Sheriff Department’s Dive Team.
Patel comments, “He was very reserved, a private person I suppose but he had a passion for Meals on Wheels. He probably did the job of two or three people. Many of us never knew how much he did behind the scenes.
It was a priviledge to work with him the last two or three years on our big Meals on Wheels project in Jamestown, the Railtown 1897 A Night To Remember fundraiser.”
