Wilbur E. Black, born February 8, 1926 in Sonora, California passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Sonora Senior Living in Jamestown, California

He lived in Sonora with his parents on the family Dairy on Wards Ferry Rd. Wilbur graduated from Sonora High in 1944. Wilbur joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served for two years. He returned home to work on the Blacks Dairy and then went on to work for Joe & Joyce Martin Trucking, & Logging Business for several years. Wilbur received Logger of the Year in 2006. He was a long-time Grange Member in Sonora. He was a pilot and loved to fly his Citabria Airplane out at the Columbia Airport. He was a member of the Aeronautical Association. He enjoyed tying flies for fly fishing in the mountain streams. Wilbur had a kind soul and loving heart with many great stories to tell. He will truly be missed by so many!
