We’re pleased to see that Tuolumne County made the right move in the hiring of Drew Njirich to manage the county’s two airports and his beginning efforts to move them forward or, hopefully, at least back to where they once were: a valuable county asset. Njirich’s experience in the military and in aviation should be welcomed by users of the airports who have been neglected and ignored for some time. Columbia Airport in particular can be more than an important air attack base and once again be a useful asset to general business and tourism.
