It looks like Kevin McCarthy and Joe Biden and a majority of Democrats and Republicans can agree on at least one thing: To kick the budget mess and national debt can down the road past the next election. Then, once everyone has secured their respective jobs for the next two to six years, they can go back to business as usual, bickering and posturing and making no progress on the financial calamity facing the nation.
