Now accepting applications for 2019 Leadership Calaveras!

The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for their 2019 Leadership Calaveras program which starts in June. This program is designed to encourage the development of community leaders, identify local issues and needs, and explore solutions.

The Leadership program was conceived in 1996 following discussions between the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and Mark Twain Medical Center. Both entities recognized that, in order to preserve and enhance Calaveras’ quality of life, careful planning and cultivation of new leaders was essential. Since the initial launch, the program has graduated many community leaders and brought forth several community projects such as the new Calaveras County Jail (Class of 2006) and the Calaveras Business Resource Center (Class of 2015).

Leadership Calaveras is a 10-month commitment which provides participants with an educational experience to increase awareness and knowledge of vital organizations in Calaveras County through hands on activities, tours, and panel discussions. Meeting once a month, participants will explore topics such as Agriculture and Wine, Natural Resources, History and Diversity, Government and Law Enforcement, Health and Human Services, Education, Arts and Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Non Profit Organizations, and Media.

The Leadership Calaveras program is open to businesses and community members. Applications here are due by 5PM on April 19, 2019
