Ziepfel Escapes Serious Injury In Single Vehicle Accident

San Andreas, CA — 16 year old Fred Ziepfel of Arnold escaped serious injury as a result of his single vehicle rollover accident Sunday morning at 1:10.

According to the CHP report Ziepfel was eastbound on Whittle Rd. west of Hwy 49 at about 55 MPH. As he approached a curve to his right he failed to turn his vehicle and traveled into the opposing traffic lane. Ziepfel made a sharp turn to the right and then over corrected back to the left causing his 1992 Jeep Cherokee to spin out of control and run off the road.

As he traveled off the roadway he collided with a utility pole shearing it off at the base knocking down power lines that came to rest across the roadway.

Ziepfel’s vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its wheels north of the roadway edge.

Ziepfel was wearing his seatbelt allowing him to escape serious injury. Ziepfel was transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital for evaluation of minor cuts and scrapes.
